The earthquake of magnitude 6.8 on the Richter scale hit eastern Burma last Thursday night, felt in the Indochinese peninsula, has left at least 60 dead and 90 wounded, according to official sources of the Asian country.
Most of the deaths occurred in villages in the northeastern area, bordering with Thailand, according to officials of the border town of Tachilek cited by the Thai radio.
The earthquake also caused the collapse of about one hundred buildings, almost all low.
